This standard KGE oboe reed is an all-rounder which favors most playing situations. The oboe reeds are made in the China, held together with a brass wire and blue / black thread binding. The reed cane & staples are KGE's own.

These reeds are of a medium strength. Staple- 47mm, length of finished reed - 72mm, U scrape.

Very reliable reeds

I've been using the KGE Standard Oboe Reed for quite some time now. They are always reliable, require very little adjustment and are free-playing with a bright sound. Good value for what they are.

These reeds were soft and I could not produce much volume. They all kept closing up despite being wired. Sound was bright and scratchy.
